Therapeutic Team

Our Therapeutic Team at Craigmore High School consists of a Senior Youth Worker, two Youth Workers and a Pastoral Care Worker who provide therapy to our students through regular check ins and ongoing term programs. The student’s engagement with the Youth Workers provides positive interactions to enhance the wellbeing, promoting a helpful mindset allowing growth for positive engagement towards their education.
Individual support is provided in a safe, confidential setting where the students can discuss their concerns. We work with the students based on a 6-session model to recognise individual strengths and set goals based on individual needs. All referrals to the Therapeutic Team are made through the Year Level Leaders.

Group programs are held in AB7, located next to the Hub and are run twice per week, alternating between our Resilience and Understanding Anger programs, available to year 8 & 9 students. They are designed to build the student’s knowledge of emotions, perspective taking, helpful thinking habits and develop strategies to manage in difficult situations. Students completing the programs are then able to draw on what they have learned, feel empowered and take control of their personal wellbeing.
