CARE Program
The (Culture, Attendance, Relationships and Empowerment (CARE) program at Craigmore High School is our core wellbeing program designed to support students’ social-emotional development and life and career ready skills. Rooted in Social Emotional Learning, the Child Protection Curriculum (CPC), and essential knowledge, understanding and skills, the program empowers students to navigate both school and personal challenges effectively.
Program Highlights
● Building Connections: The CARE program fosters a strong connection to the school, community, and self. Through activities and discussions, students gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them, promoting empathy and global awareness.
● Child Protection Curriculum (CPC): Incorporating CPC, the program educates students on safety, rights, and responsibilities. Topics include recognising warning signs, managing risk-taking behaviours, and understanding power dynamics in relationships.
● Life Skills Development: Students engage in interactive activities to learn critical life skills such as goal setting, conflict resolution, and decision-making, preparing them for future success.
● Year-Level Specific Programs: The CARE program includes tailored information and activities for each year level, ensuring relevant and age-appropriate learning experiences. This includes key information about careers, VET opportunities, and subject selection to guide students in making informed decisions about their educational and career pathways.
The CARE program is integral to creating a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere at Craigmore High School, ensuring students feel valued, safe, and equipped to thrive in a connected world.
