Technologies at Craigmore High School
At Craigmore High School, Technologies is a dynamic and hands-on learning area that empowers students through real-world skills and creativity. Our curriculum offers core subjects in Food Studies (Years 7–9) and Design and Digital Technologies (Year 7), with a broad range of elective opportunities available from Year 8 through to Stage 2.
Curriculum Overview

Specialisation and Electives

- Year 7: Students begin to specialise in areas such as Food Studies, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Electronics, Material Solutions, and Digital Design.
- Year 8: Students complete Food Studies and select from Material Solutions or Digital Technology.
- Year 9 Onwards: Students can delve deeper into areas of interest, including Jewellery, Fashion Design, Woodwork, Metalwork, CAD, and advanced Food and Hospitality.
Senior Years
Senior students can pursue their passions through SACE subjects such as:

Real-World Experience
Our Food Studies program allows students to cater real-life events and gain hospitality experience in our student-run café. Electives such as Cake Decorating, Barista Training, and Food and Hospitality build food handling, creativity, and customer service skills. Students develop essential industry knowledge and practical capabilities, preparing them for further study and employment pathways in the food and hospitality sector.
Learning Environment
Learning is student-led, with learners contributing to curriculum and task design. Students work with industry-standard equipment, including welders, CAD software, and laser cutters in our Trade Training Centre. All students complete comprehensive Work Health and Safety (WHS) training before accessing specialised equipment.
