Future Pathways

At Craigmore High School, we provide students with opportunities to explore career pathways starting in Year 8 and continuing throughout their schooling. We invite industry professionals to engage with students through guest speakers, career expos, taster programs, and work experience opportunities.

Industry Engagement and VET Programs

We collaborate with an Industry Engagement Consultant to support students in gaining school-based and flexible apprenticeships. Through the Northern Adelaide State Secondary School Alliance (NASSSA), we offer over 60 Vocational Education and Training (VET) programs across various industries. This ensures students have the opportunity to gain Certificate-level qualifications before entering the workforce.

NASSSA Alliance

As part of the NASSSA alliance, we aim to increase learning opportunities, career pathways, retention, and educational outcomes through VET. Courses are conducted in an adult learning environment, providing hands-on practical and theoretical training. These nationally accredited courses offer credits towards SACE completion and are available to students in Years 11 and 12.

Careers and Transition Program

Our Careers and Transition Program is designed to inspire and support students in identifying potential pathways, focusing on employment or vocational education. The program provides case management or mentoring to support pathway exploration, goal setting, and job networking. It also aims to develop literacy and numeracy skills, employability skills, and knowledge to set achievable goals.

SACE Flexibilities

The South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) offers flexibilities that allow students to tailor their learning to suit their interests and career aspirations. Students can integrate VET courses, school-based apprenticeships, and other learning experiences into their SACE, providing a personalised and relevant education pathway.
