At Craigmore High School, our English program is thoughtfully designed to meet the diverse literacy needs of our students. Through a range of targeted intervention and enrichment programs, we provide personalised support to ensure every learner can thrive. Learning is co-designed with students, placing their voice and agency at the heart of their educational journey.

Curriculum Overview
English is a compulsory subject from Year 7 through to Stage 1, with Stage 2 English offered as an elective. In Year 7, students identified as needing additional support are enrolled in tailored literacy intervention programs, while highly proficient students may have the opportunity to commence Stage 1 English in Year 10.
Specialised Pathways
From Year 11 onwards, English subjects are topic-driven, allowing students to select areas of study that align with their interests and strengths. These topics are co-developed annually, ensuring relevance and engagement.
In the Senior Years, students can pursue English through a variety of pathways, including:
• Essential English
• English
• English Literary Studies
To successfully complete the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), students must achieve a grade of ‘C’ or higher in Stage 1 English.
