Term 1 Reflections from Our Year 12 Leaders

As Term 1 comes to a close, our Year 12 leaders reflect on the challenges, achievements, and vibrant school spirit that have shaped their year so far.

“Year 12 is the year everybody talks about, the final year. It definitely felt intimidating at first; it is a big year with lots of pressure, and sometimes it feels like there is no way to juggle everything. But what makes it so manageable, and even enjoyable, are the amazing teachers, the incredible Year 12 cohort, and the strong sense of community we have at school. Everyone here genuinely wants to see you succeed and get better, which is such a powerful feeling. Of course, it’s not always easy. We all have our own challenges to face, whether it’s balancing school with jobs, sports, or personal struggles. Even with such a solid support system, there are moments when it feels tough. But through all my schooling, one thing I’ve learned is to never give up, no matter how hard things get. It is so important to have the right mindset and to always give it your all!”

“We as Year 12’s, have had a very busy first term filled with both fun and stress. With many expectations about the year ahead, we found that assignments have been challenging, but the relief of handing up a task is a weight lifted off our shoulders. Our cohort have experienced many different events so far this year including, first day celebrations, representing our team at Sports Day, being mentors at Year 7 Friendship Day, a Healthcare excursion to the Lyell Mc Ewin Health Service, P.A.R.T.Y program, an Art Gallery excursion and West Lakes Aquatics. In week 10 a group of 11 Craigmore High School students attended a Harmony Day excursion at Playford International College where current year 12 student, Rahma, performed a rap for all students to enjoy as part of the celebrations. These excursions are a great way to break up heavy assignments and ease any school worries.”
